A few days of friends, music, hilarity, robots, and America!

Let me begin by saying...

...for coming to see us at The House of Blues this past weekend! It was an amazing honor to witness music lovers pack The House of Blues for a bunch of Orlando bands. The show was a blast! Our friends in "The Passenger" opened up the show in amazing style and then passed the stage over to "Judy Tribune" who, as always, left everyone wanting more. Then it was our turn...

I can honestly say it was some of the most fun this band has ever had. With the help of our friends in "DayBreak Embrace" and our Mr. Fixit Mcmustache-man, Birch Mangus, we had some fancy, new light boxes. When we finished rocking Andy Matchett and the Minks took the shenanigans department to the next level, with the help of Dog Powered Robot. They shared an hour of amazing music and spectacles that Orlando will not soon forget. The night however did not end there; A Brilliant Lie had an after-party of sorts at our band house and we were accompanied by most of the band members that performed with us that night as well as a handful of other great Orlando bands and music lovers. It was a great night for local music in Orlando, and it was a reminder of how happy and lucky we are to be in a city that has such an amazing community of bands and musicians that all support each other. It is impossible to name all of the amazing people that supported us leading up this most recent House of Blues show, but we must thank Pamela Bendezu & Erin Bisanti for taking some amazing photos, our friend Sherri Neinass for running our merch table, and of course the staff of the House of Blues for being so helpful in every way possible. We won't be playing in the Orlando city limits again until August when we play at The Social with "Adeste", "Stand Well Amongst Giants", "A Dying Regime", and "Dreamer". It's been a while since we've been at The Social and we can't wait to come back. In other news*, holy crap!

This is amazing! Oh yeah, I almost forgot to say Happy late birthday America! I hope you all had a safe Independence Day that didn't involve an alien invasion*, but I'm sure you nonetheless celebrated your country by blowing up a small piece of it. As a bonus it was an experience that will help you get used to the destruction that will ensue when A Brilliant Lie finally takes over the world. Until then we will continue our plans for world domination while writing new material. We will also be playing some shows outside of Orlando this month so I'm sure we will collect more stories of shenanigans on the road. Until the next unnecessary and over-sized image flooded blog entry...

*A.D.D. moment imminent.
*Get it?

Fact of the week: Our singer, Tara Lightfoot sports some amazing shirts in the vein of the the Millenium Falcor gag. She owns a shirt that has a picture of President Obama holding a lightsaber that reads "The Empire Strikes Barrack", and another that simply reads "What the hell is an aluminum falcon!?" I find both of these to be amazing.
