Hi Everybody! First off, we're sorry we didn't have a blog update last week, we had some troubles with our website but they have been fixed. HOORAY! Don't worry, we will include a 'fact of the week' for this week and last week. Anyway, this past week was a lot of fun for us: We had the privilege of appearing on WPRK's Local Heroes to perform an acoustic rendition of one of our newer songs, Rhythm of Now and be interviewed by Daniel from Ratham Stone. It was a lot of fun and there were definitely a few shenanigans. You can check out a video of the performance here:
We gave Zach free roam, which in hindsight may not have been the best idea. In other news, we added a new guitar to our arsenal [HOORAY!] just in time for Florida Music Festival. Make no mistake; we are aware a new guitar is really only a big deal to us, but we are broke, and very rarely get to say this. Anyway, we will be performing in FMF this Saturday at 57 West at midnight. If you're at the festival at all this week you're likely to see us wandering from venue to venue. Also be prepared for more A Brilliant Lie shenanigans...that is all that will be said in this matter.
Our final bit of awesome news, apart from the fact that we recently acquired a fully functional original NES*, is that we are wrapping up a new song that we plan to debut in the coming weeks and be able to rock at our performance at SunFest on May 4th. We like this new song, we think it's... 'festive' - no pun intended.
Thanks for reading,
Tim Cook-Berry
*We need more NES games, and will share large quantities of beer with you if you can get a hold of a copy of Contra!
A Brilliant Lie fact of the week: We have chosen Lullabies for Open Eyes to be the song for our music video that will be working on in the coming months with our friend Steven Shea of Abyssmal Productions. Unfortunately no one can be told what the video will be about, you'll have to see it for yourself.
A Brilliant Lie fact of the week ... for last week: One of the cats that lives in our band house shockingly resembles Jabba the Hutt.
Her name is Cordi and she belongs to Jessica - the awesome girlfriend of this writer/guitar player. Kawa Wookie.
